What is being done to remove “no results” pages?

Will Google ever remove No Results pages from large websites?

Wondering about what solutions Google has in place for dealing with “no results” pages from big shot websites that don’t really offer any unique and relevant content to user reviews. You may have experienced something similar yourself (Business pages from Facebook that don’t actually have any content, results from websites like YELP and Amazon that don’t     really offer anything relevant to what users are looking for.

Report No Results pages to Google

As explained by Matt in the video featured above, Google hates having those kinds of results as much as users do and are striving to clean up the search engine of poor results. Unfortunately there is still so much work to be done in that area and users can still end up with poor results in their queries due to webspam like the one described above. Hence Google addresses the question by asking users to help them fight off webspam.

Whenever you see “no results” pages from any website, you can submit a spam report and point Google to the right direction. Despite the search engine’s efforts to fight off webspam, many still resort to such underhanded strategies in SEO (Search Engine Optimisation).  Google will of course thoroughly investigate all and any spam report prior to taking appropriate action on the webpages concerned.

The webmaster goes on to reassure users that the search engine is very much capable and willing to remove such pages and prevent them from ever appearing on search results ever again.
