What is the ideal keyword density of a page?

Wondering about keyword density?

Keyword density is often the most-asked question people have in the online marketing business. It’s a factor that so many people often obsess about. So is it 1 percent, 2 percent or some other number? Let’s go ahead and take a look.

Don’t obsess unnecessarily with keywords

Now as explained in the Google webmaster video above, one shouldn’t obsess unnecessarily with keyword density when it comes to search engine optimization and online marketing content.  There is no such thing as a set rule when it comes to keyword density which one can just simply follow and expect to rank high in search results. That’s just not how it works and its not how Google looks at keywords.

Instead of focusing too much on whether your web content actually has the right keyword density or not, you are better off focusing on quality and making sure that your content actually reads right. You just have to make sure that your keywords are present in your web content and avoid any attempt to spam the webpage with search terms if it means sacrificing quality and readability.

Make no mistake – Google has gone a long a way when it comes to detecting and penalizing websites that deal in spam content. It’s not about packing as many keywords as possible into your webpage just to attain whatever keywords density you were aiming for. It’s not going to get you anywhere. You would want to make sure reads naturally and actually offers something of value for both search engines and users.
