Many feel that an update is long overdue particularly for the ones that allow users to retrieve data on backlinks and search queries which will surely prove invaluable in SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). If so then, you’d be glad to know that Google finally has answer on the matter as shown in the video featured above.

API update for the webmaster tools – rolling out soon

As discussed in the video above, Matt Cutts – Google Webmaster reassures us that the search engine does intend to release an update on their API for the webmaster tools in the future although it’s still in the works and the search engine hopes to launch it fairly soon. In the mean time though, you can use Python and PHP libraries as a workaround to access the date required. Keep in mind that these tool kits are in no way affiliated with Google and is not an official project by the search engine. You can access them using the links below:
